Hi Gents
Can i please as for the tap size/thread i need for the fuel tank outlet holes??

Thank you

Keep in mind that different fuel taps may also have different seats on them for the fuel line coupling connection, requiring a change or modification to the coupler. I changed my fuel taps to two reserve BAPS this summer and had to drill off a few rings of threads on the inside of my existing fuel line couplers before they would thread on far enough to seal.

I also took one of the reserve taps apart and flipped the lever around so that they both moved from on/off in the same direction.
I run with both taps open and simply keep an eye on my tank fuel level.

There are two types of BSP pipe thread - parallel and tapered. Our fuel taps are the parallel type sometimes referred to as BSPP.
Not a big fan of BAP petcocks or having 2 reserves.

I've gone thru all types of fuel taps over the 44 years of owning the blue one in my avatar.
1 of 5.
BAP can't be any worse than any of the others.
Just had to zing off a few of the threads on the straight thread couplers to go on far enough on the pipe thread fuel tap to seat and seal. no big deal.
2 reserves, who cares, I can look in the tank to see how much fuel is in there, its not really all that hard to do.

Doesn't anyone produce or sell a fuel tap BAP style that has both a main & reserve positions...... if not why....

BAP type OFF-ON-RES taps are available but need Triumph 83-7970 tap adaptors.

I use a bap style tap on my commando and my trident
They are threaded into the tank the same as the original ones
With a lock nut to set the position
One tap is main IE with tube the reserve has no tube just as original
Am I missing something here? The system works fine for me and always has
Are the taps above off -main-reserve ?
If so why? When you have two taps?

Have 2 reserve taps but just use one side at a time, there is always some fuel left in the un used side.

Out of interest how far can you go on what's left the other side of the tunnel?
And what tank do you have?
Cheers

I can remember stopping to help a couple of blokes with a BSA b40 with a sidecar tilting the whole outfit up to get a bit more fuel from the left to the right of tank!!

This look to be a really good solution & as both taps have main & reserve will allow for complete draining of the tank....good find!!

Look the same as cNw ones, so Matt would still be a good source for US guys.

Do the inmotiontrials ones come with lock nuts?

By the looks of them no... i plan to chat with them Tomorrow or Friday so will ask the question

Anyone with a B40 sidecar combo needs rather more help than that Baz...!!
