I would hold out for a complete, known good engine. You will spend less in the end, I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE!!!
Maybe a wrecked bike...
NOT SO!But then you wouldn't be able to fit the JS longer rods and light weight pistons , not to mention one of his cams and BSA style followers etc...
Sorry but I agree with Fast Eddie, the above is irrelevant if the mudguard hits the fairing under hard braking locking up the steering! In my OPINION, number one consideration is that you have full range of motion with handlebars and controls, from lock-to-lock. Second is alignment with other bodywork.
Yep, been there done that.Yep, it is often the case that you can set up clip-ons with good range of motion, then got out on a ride, and in a turn you try to hit the throttle and your wrist won't clear the tank.
That’s a good idea. Haven’t thought about that. Gauges will cover it some, but I’ll need to block out all that light. You might want to get some black cloth material to fit over the back of the headlamp, the light glare reflected from the perspex might be a little off putting.. . . . .
Hey Rick, like you I was on the Jersey Shore for many years, I’m very familiar with hurricanes. My house was ground zero for Sandy.Hope you like hurricanes ! ( the weather type, not the Triumph type.)
Yes, I addressed that in my next reply HERE. I recommended pulling the top caps to allow the forks to bottom out and ensure they clear. I believe he's done that.Sorry but I agree with Fast Eddie, the above is irrelevant if the mudguard hits the fairing under hard braking locking up the steering!
