I never give , has been costly attitude down through the years too , more ways than financial…

Today I upgraded my iPad up to the latest 14.6 version. I thought I already had that version but did not. Now the same issue is happening to me. Every so often the site won’t load. It’s frustrating for sure. I am still trying to resolve the issue.

Not sure which device Rob is using, but I can testify 100% that it is only Apple devices with 14.5.1 or 14.6 IOS Having the issue. IPad with IOS 12 works fine, Windows and Android no issues either.
my IPad is much better since I changed the proxy server setting, but still bombs out at times especially when I click on the “Forums” link on the top left.
My problems are with an iMac (Big Sur 11.4)
My iPad isn't currently having problems - but its running 14.4.2 - so I'll hold off installing 14.6 for now.

That great news that you now have the problem too Jerry!
At least you can see what you’re fighting against.

So sorry Jerry, but this morning is the worst I’ve noticed since the issue started. As requested, I waited over 20 seconds before tapping ‘new posts” this immediately brought up the advert as usual. I then clicked that closed and I got the white screen and reload. That eventually allowed me to press ‘new posts’ and once more it went white screen. Another reload and I could select a thread , and again white screen. I have so far in the past 27 minutes (I’ve timed it) opened, read and answered 4 threads only.

now that you also have the situation occurring it seems we can blame crapple iOS 14.6 With a degree of certainty.

Access now seems worse than it was - slower, messages that the site is not available, etc... :(

MacOS Big Sur

Hello all Apple folks,

I am going to start working on this again now. Please be patient as I have no clue what is causing it.

Yesterday I reported that I was experiencing this issue after upgrading my iPad. Well it turns out my iPad was/ is fine and the site is running ok on it after the upgrade. Just to throw a wrench/ spanner in the works my ISP was having intermittent connection issues due to a modem issue so it seemed like my iPad was behaving odd. So all good with my upgrade.

I'll update you later on this issue.

Jerry

Jerry - It wasn't meant as threat - sorry if you've taken it that way.
No problem mate. I am not sure if your issue is the same as the iPad one. Definitely seems all Apple related. I will be trying some things at the website today to try and fix it again. Don't upgrade your iPad yet in case that screws up too.

Folks,
I made a change on my Ipad earlier today and have not had a single issue since ( Until just now when I reckon Jerry bounced the server ) ;)

So try this. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Experimantal Features > Turn off everything, EXCEPT HTTP/3

Then hold down the Power and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears ( Hard reboot)

See how it is afterwards

I am working on the server and this issue. You might see things go down for a short period of time as I reboot scripts. It would be nice if it was as simple as that.

At this instant it hooked right up ! But then this post timed out before it went up , trying again now

"Mike I temporarily made you a VIP member as a test. Can you let me know if any better?"

No difference. It's very erratic. Sometimes the site loads normally and I think it's all OK and then suddenly the next subject I click on or try to add a reply hangs up and I get a site not available message.

In fact, When I tried to post this reply it just kept trying to send or whatever and finally quit sending. I tried to resend the post, it did the same thing. The third time it posted immediately. o_O

I have temporarily disabled all forum add-ons. Please can someone have a quick go at it and let me know if its ok now. I know you will see funny code in threads. That will be better after I re-enable these addons. Let me know if its better asap

Wow! I suddenly started getting hypertext markup in my posts.

<div class="bbWrapper"><blockquote class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-title"> <a href="/goto/post?id=534859" class="bbCodeBlock-sourceJump" rel="nofollow" data-xf-click="attribution" data-content-selector="#post-534859">worntorn said:</a> </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-content"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandContent js-expandContent "> Like finding cause of an intermittent misfire...on someone else's bike in another country. </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandLink js-expandLink"><a role="button" tabindex="0">Click to expand...</a></div> </div> </blockquote>After a bottle of wine. I dont give up easy though</div>

Exited twice, same result.
