I think it was Landspeedracer who mentioned having issues with his Virgin internet and iPad accessing this site and he has to use his mobile data package instead of WiFI at home.

My iPad and iPhone have just updated to IOS 14.6 and both are now having problems accessing this site, I am with BT, not Virgin, and had zero problems until this recent update.

Like Landspeedracer, I can use my iPhone and mobile data package without issue.

Anyone know WTF is going on and what to do about it?

Please allow this post to remain here as I am thinking Landspeedracer and I might not be isolated cases and I know this is the most used forum on this site.

if anyone does know what’s going on, and what to do, please speak slowly and use small words …!

My iPhone and iPad have both been having issues of late. I assumed due to an IOS update?
Happens whether I am on mobile data or wifi. No issues on Windows based machine.

I have the same problem since the 14.5 update. I was hoping the one week later update to 14.6 would fix it but no. I have reported it to Jerry, but it definitely seems to be an IOS issue.

Thanks FE, I was beginning to think it was only me. Once again this morning I’ve had to use my phone data to get online to this forum only. The reaction time with the site is improved, but nowhere near as fast as any other forum I use, I’ve got 110mbps via Virgin and 19 at the moment with my 3 data on 4g, I’m in a poor coverage area at home.

I haven’t yet tried to see what happens when I log on through my PC or another laptop. I’ll give it a go later on and report back.

I was in London last week, and it was the same on my Ipad when there, so definitely an IOS issue.

just back from walking the dog and I've logged on via the PC. Which of course meant a new password as how the heck do I remember a strong Ipad password?

The forum now performs as I'd expect, so I too think its a crapple problem.

I've been having problems for a month or so now - have complained to Jerry and L.A.B. (I use Apple Safari)
Jerry suggested I change browser but I replied it is only his site I have issues with and won't do that.
The problems are typically VERY slow response to both upload and download requests.
He hadn't mentioned others were having issues so I though, maybe I was on my own.
It is so bad at times that I consider discontinuing my subscription.
Given FE's intro - I wonder if it is, indeed, a interface issue with Apple?

I have the same problem with Mac OS Big Sur. Only on this site, not others. I had no problems with Catalina. Probably related to some security changes in the latest Apple operating systems.

Hello all. Just saw this thread. I will be looking into it. I need a few more details. From what I am hearing the site is loading slow on iPhones.

please can someone confirm if it’s in all browsers on an iPhone or if it’s just safari?

is it only iPhone or iPad as well?

Jerry

Hi Jerry, it seems to be any browsers on Iphone & Ipad devices updated to 14.5.1 or 14.6 IOS, ( I tried Safari & Firefox) Mike also mention MAC Big Sur is problematic

The interesting thing is that I have an iPhone (14.6) and its behaving normally in both safari and chrome.
Please can you go to the bottom of this page and change it from default dark theme to light theme and let me know if its still the same after making this change?
