Someone selling a (claimed) new, unused glass fiber tank for a Ducati bevel sport for only $4,500.
No, the bike is not attached. Neither is the fuel cap......

I do rather doubt that it will sell, even to the originality-obsessed Ducati nurds.

Hey ,I’m on 3rd Duke , you should try one …. That being said , if I didn’t do my own bike work , would not be able to ride Ducati , they are great machines and much easier to figure than the masses are led to believe …

Yes. agree that they are wonderful bikes. I've owned my bevel Sport since 81, only Ducati I've had. It's quite an adjustment though, moving between the Ducati and the Norton. One is rock steady, corners like it's on rails with never a wiggle (even flat out at Spa!), while the Commando is ,shall we say, lively...

You cannot really do much the the Ducati to improve it - Maxton forks and rear dampers perhaps, but otherwise not a lot. The Norton on the other hand is a work in progress, quite fascinating to do.
That said though, they do go for absolutely silly prices these days, this tank costs more than twice what I paid for my whole bike.
Considering I bought it off the original owner for the same price he paid new in 1973, that's quite a hop.

I don't know about others, but I really don't find routine repair and maintenance parts for Nortons expensive at all. In fact, both price and availability is outstanding in my opinion - now I realize that I am lucky to live within a 20 minute drive from Walridge Motors, and basically can have parts same day....

Yup Mike is a good guy and extensive stock , closest to me is Brit Cycle maybe 2hrs away …. Ducati is much modern still kept my Commando for a very long time and do miss , I just didn’t ride the Norton enough to justify , faced with either the Duke , or Guzzi mostly the Norton sat except Sun. mornings …. at this point just the GT1000 and dual sport in shed , oh yeah plus a CT90 Trail , happy enough and more room to move … most costly part for Duke has been the $600 for a no longer produced centre stand for GT ….
