I like full fairings; I like half fairings; I like some bikini fairings.... but I have never really been a fan of the 'flyscreen'. It looks good on some bikes, not so on others. It looks fine on the 961.

The current factory offerings have stainless clock covers, polished ally headlight bracket, polished yokes and a chromed headlight shell.... all hidden by a carbon screen. I was wondering what you think of the 961 without the fly screen?

Flyscreen or no flyscreen?

Pure 'Rocker' I'll bring a couple of those litter brush things to the next run so you can clean the bug squash from your teeth.

I keep wrestling with that question myself. I think all that thing does is keep your dials clean. Is that your new seat cover? In that pic it looks like a buckskin.

Love the no fairing look
How easy was it to take off
Still haven't taken delivery of mine yet

Like your other post, I'm the wrong side of 50, don't know if the cafe bars will suit me, but just love the look, hope my back and wrists don't suffer too much

Ps, what number is yours

Bugs in teeth I can deal with, it's the cleaning of the clocks and wiring that would get plastered if the fly screen was removed!

The only thing that would 'bug' me is the bracket for the flyscreen either side of headlamp.... if screen removed then the brackets would need to be cut off from the main headlamp bracket.... and that would be permanent. Other option is to put the flyscreen brackets to an alternate use. Needs more thought.

The seat is still the original.

Screen comes off easy, just two small bolts either side of headlamp... but the screen bracket is part of the headlamp bracket and those would probably need cutting off!

Try the bars before making your mind up, actually not too bad. I'm the wrong side of 60 and my back is weakened from years of abuse but doesn't give me any probs on the CR, just get a little stiff neck and mild white finger :)

Mine is 2/50

Buy a spare headlamp bracket...

I might give Clem a call. Those brackets are 'polished' so probably come at a hefty premium.

Actually, they might be chrome steel, they look like polished ally.... now I am going to have to go back out to garage with a magnet, curiosity and the cat and all that :)

Non-magnetic so 99% sure polished alloy. That is GOOD as far as having to cut them but BAD in terms of price I bet.... 'polished' = 'special/labour intensive' = EXPENSIVE!

Yes, there’s a bit more to it than a pair of Emgo universal headlamp brackets !

I thought I read somewhere that McPint got #1?

I must confess that I didn’t hang about much, read about them in MCN on Weds and ordered on Fri.

Not sure why I wasted 2 days ...
