Florida California and Nevada trip

Doing a whistle stop mini tour of Florida and Calif next week so if any of you FLA or CA guys see a stranger in a rental Dodge waving at you on your Norton no need to wonder why. Will be flying in to San Fran from visiting relatives in Toronto for a day and a half then 4-5 days down the coast to Santa Monica for a couple of nights and across to Vegas and the Canyon. The other half has 7 months paid leave off work after 25 yrs service so we had to do something. Here's hoping the mists stay away on the coast drive :)Will miss some riding over here but its not often we get a chance like this....
 
Have fun. We are having a bit of a heat wave here in Southern California. 93 degrees F today. Santa Monica should be a bit cooler by the sea. There is a British pub by pier with Indian curry house across the road if you like that. Lots of other options of course!

Sounds like fun adventure breaking ice with a Commando. Fla used to have lots of fine beaches and rual attractions but pretty over grown along the coasts now with Disney World cluttering up the middle of the state, so suggest you check out Swani River and Rainbox springs to get sense of how it was durring the 50s-70s. Cape Canaveral is a wonder to behold too. If the Gluf oil spill and other pollution has not posioned or eliminated the Stone crabs - I don't think there is a more delisious sea around makeing lobster taste and chew like dried shoe leather compared. In Miami if ya can bare the dense traffic now Joe's Crab Shack is the biggest most famous Stone Crab server, in season of course. Cypress Gardens also has ole time Fla water sking acts and senery. Most state roads pretty straight till in rolling country in mid to north parts. The Riddley motorcycle is made near Homestead on way to Key West and a hoot to check it out if going that far south.
 
Thanks for the tips.Enjoying Orlando now, even downtown Disney was ok! Not really my thing but a couple of old blues musicians were doing a great job. Air boats,wine tasting, Kissimmee cruise tonight for my car kick and Canada for 3 days seeing cousins. Looking fwd to California.
