Should have another go at starting this weekend, got a mate round with a strobe and a bit more experience than me. Will see what happen and get back to you Many thanks. John

Setting up with the instructions often means the timing is too retarded. Break the taper loose and rotate the rotor counterclockwise about 1/4 inch at the edge and try it again. Jim

We tried everything it would fire just once, found that laying plug on side of engine with cap attached and kicking bike over showed a good spark on both plugs. But we found one was dud. Also Jim turned out to be correct, as we had to move back rotor 1/4round to get it to run. The strobe we used would not work on the rgm single coil ignition lead(type of strobe with supply from battery and ct coil on ht lead) we had a good day if it could go wrong it did. Got a all singing all dancing strobe (mag) type. Yes it worked we got it going and got timing spot on . Now I have to clear the oil up of the patio, and fix oil leaks that I did not have before I started it. Ha. Ha Any way thanks to all and to. Jim. Again many thanks. John. Norfolk. Uk
