Hi All, I wanted to post up and say that I've just had my CR's first service, I trailed my bike to Stuart at Motorvated in Derby, I'd read some good reviews.

I must say I was very pleased with the care and meticulous attention he gave my bike. As an Ex factory employee his knowledge of the bike excellent. He carried put the first service as requested. He also modified the oil cooler pipes as recommended by the Norton service bulletin, changed the starter motor gasket and replaced the rear crush drive rubbers for the more sturdy Talon items, my bike had only 620 miles on the clock and the original rubbers were showing signs of distortion, I would recommend checking yours....

If you're looking for someone to service your bike, I would recommend his services.

My bike is now run in so looking forward to seeing the magic 'ton'

I’m in next week ‍

Oh wow, cheers Garry!
Apologies by the way, I finally got your invoice in the post earlier today. I'll sort that file out for you tomorrow too.
Ive had some lovely 961's in lately, a California went back to the IoM today, and a Dominator Donington went back to Yorkshire yesterday. Got an SS and a mk2 sport in at present.

I'm predominantly on Facebook with the updates, so if you use FB, then search out Motorvated Ltd...same profile picture as used here.
Right now I'm running it from my home workshop...looks quite small in that picture, but I can just squeeze in 14 bikes, including two bike lifts, a tyre machine and a car...along with tools etc, so it's not all that small. I'm taking baby steps into going full time with it, working a day job at a local garage and then all other hours in my workshop. Pandemic upheaval aside, with the current spares situation with Norton, I dont think its wise to push this as my only form of income right now..I just cant risk having a dozen Nortons sat around waiting for parts and no income to pay the bill. But as soon as we know where we are with Norton...then I'll reevaluate.
I'll be at the 961 meet next weekend, if anyone wants to chat etc.
Cheers
Stu

I do like how that picture makes me look quite young though...albeit with a belly showing haha

I reckon you'll be looking for larger premise soon Stu. If you're interested I've heard there's some premises close to Donnington Park available ;)
If you're referring to Donington Hall....I believe MSV owner, Jonathan Palmer, has bought that place. Slightly above my budget though :D

I think so...Ive never followed F1 though. I read something about him planning on basically turning the hall into a rich boys storage facility for their track cars. Im glad the hall is reunited with the track though, they've got so much history together.

You waste garage space with a car ?!? o_O

We are off to see the wizard, the wonderful Norton wizzard called Stu. Because because because because, because of the wonderful things he does.

First trip with the trailer, bike has been inactive for a while. Dead battery, replaced but then starts but won't run. Possible map sensor but want to get any other weaknesses sorted so I can enjoy the rest of 2021 and beyond.

Hope these straps hold, will be a slow drive and a few layby stops to check.

Haha dunno about wizard....Im just a mechanic with a fondness for 961's!
Looking closer at the picture, I'd probably move your rear straps to the rear shock top mountings...but just personal preference.

Hope you moved those straps WR? They don’t look kind on the ex hangers etc…

Checked after 3 miles on really bumpy country road. The oxford handle bar set was fine but a couple of the rear straps were more than a bit loose. Re-positioned and checked again 5 miles later and 12 miles later. All good so set off and they were all tight when I arrived 80 mins later. Map sensor definately the culprit so that's good news the problem was identified quickly.
