wondering on fastest colour .... as a young fella it was always black & gold Norton’s .... then as years went by myself and general public adopted red as fastest .... at this point it gets very complicated to decide .... seems even factories not sure anymore ..... what is fastest colour ? .... prolly should include some logic with your opinion ....

Clearly aftermarket go-fast parts work better than stock. Similarly aftermarket silver is fastest as there is less friction from wind.

On Ducati’s it is a known fact that red ones are 5 mph faster.
Due to positive earth effects I expect that we should be nearer the other end of the visible spectrum, British Racing Green then must be similarly effective on Nortons.

Fastest colour Thanks for first comments ! , this should be way more rewarding than the thread just “locked down” .... like I mentioned above even factories have strayed from their original “campaign colours” , what up with that ? ... only colour I really dislike is white on sidewall of bike tires ... okay on a classic car , but ..... I was led to believe Ducati took up “blood red” as cost saving measure , no need for repaint after injury during testing ... here is proof I bleed same colour ....

Black & gold on Roadsters for at least 4.3337 mph with a tail wind on third Sunday of the month.

A car that was wrapped with, wait for it Pink Gold was a hell of a looker!

I’m sure it was , some times bad taste can out perform itself , if you catch my drift .... sorta like , sleazy can look “hot” in the right circumstances ...

You maybe correct Swoosh , while looking great ! .... I had mine that colour for a few years in honour of boyhood friend who died from injuries on way to hospital from a T-bone crash , he had a pale yellow ‘71 Roadster .... 1974 long time ago now and eventually made mine B & G a few years back,as that my first memory of a Commando ... not positive it fastest though .... yellow could be winner !

You’re all wrong.

Blue is the fastest colour... because mine is blue.

Simple logic is often the best.

Whilst I’m on a logical roll... black and gold Commandos are SO boring...

(There, that should spice things up)

I like blue...as a matter of fact I like Commandos in all colors. Yours is fast for other reasons though. ...Mine won't even run right now because the operator trashed his right hamstring two days ago and can get his leg over the saddle, so not in the running for fast anything.

Bare metal will rust quickly, thus creating wind drag.

When bare metal rusts, it is no longer bare metal ..... it is rusty metal.

One must do the speed trials quickly, before flash rust sets in. OTOH, flash rust, by virtue of its name, may be faster than bare metal.

Slick

I think we all know the answer...

Fastest colour

Dave is that the bike your motor blew up if so the colour might be to fast for your motor, you might have to tone it down a bit so your motor can keep up with it.
