Fastback Rear Fenders on Roadsters?

just to have it shorter at the rear on a Roadster Anyone done this and if so did you use the early or later Fastback fender?

The early fastback mudguard has a rare plate at the forward end, seldom seen. I fitted mine with a rubber mount onto the rear of the battery tray

The early Fastback rear fender is pretty narrow, running on memory.
Could you use an undrilled generic stainless rear fender, chopping the front until you get the rear stickout that you like? With stainless, you can bash it to go around the oil tank, if needed.
Then you can mount the taillight/license bracket wherever or however you want.

That's what I did, using an undrilled stainless Triumph fender. Seen here beyond the Titanic's rolling chassis.

Also be aware that the later F/B has a indent in the guard (fender) to allow access to the oil tank filter plus has 2 mounting holes to attach it to the battery tray,The early (say 68) F/B rear guard has only one mounting hole at the front to attach to the battery tray and no indent in the guard as the oil tank filter is at the front.
