Fake News.

I think Australia is like the UK a little, why look in the mirror (including mirror of change) when you can blame the government etc etc.

For some even the freedom of choice of media to watch is to hard.
Deciding what is real or biased forget it. (especially when a lot of it matters little)
For some there is no escape from the pull of the wormhole (That of television or media, online or not)
You read some things, it does not suit your slant, who cares.
You see or read things that common sense will say are biased or slanted, who cares, hit the back button and get a life (unless you choose to make physical change)

Maybe Al should turn the media off, pack the Mazda ? and just head off with the wife when the weather cools off a little, a drive to nowhere in particular.
You can do that in the land of freedom of choice.

TW, perhaps you are right. Maybe I should go through life with an attitude of who gives a flying f.... All I know is that if I applied that to my business I wouldn't have a business for very long. Although I do admit that I should be a little less Don Quixote.

My wife and I visited a friend in a own a few hundred kilometres away. She does not have a computer, so never accesses social media. She watches Murdoch's Sky News TV and thinks it is OK. She told me that Paul Murray is kind-hearted. I like to watch Paul Murray because some things are so bad that they are good. Paul Murray is as about as kind-hearted as a hungry vulture. I will listen to any argument, but I don't get sucked-in easily. I am not a screaming leftie, in fact I am probably a company-man. I can recognise bullshit at a distance of ten miles. I was a middle manager in a very stressful job for about 40 years.
NOBODY GETS UP ME !

In Australia, since Menzies was elected in 1948 - there has only been ONE conservative politician who has been worth a pinch of shit - MALCOLM TURNBULL. and Murdoch fixed his little red wagon. All of the others have been reason for dismay. When Menzies was elected, he had everything - NOTHING HAPPENED and still doesn't ! The Conservatives are paranoid about government debt. A basic rule of business is 'spend a dollar to make a dollar' but their idea of risk-taking is expressed this way :
'we should address issues as they arise and NOT on the basis of what might happen'. They simply exploit the status quo to benefit the few. - ' Back to the future' ? - weak as piss !

It is like sitting in the middle of a road race being afraid to accelerate. There is not one goer amongst them. - And Labor copies the Conservatives - afraid to be different.. If Labor takes a progressive agenda to an election, the whole debate becomes negative.

You forgot to insert IMHO in the midst if that - although I suspect the H is inappropriate!

During the 1930s depression, NSW had a Labor Premier called Jack Lang. Because every worker in Sydney was on the bones of their arse, he built the Sydney Harbour Bridge which provided jobs. However the Conservatives claimed he was a wrecker. When Lang was about to cut the ribbon to open the bridge, one of their guys galloped up on as horse with a sword and cut the ribbon. The top cop grabhed the idiot's foot and chucked him off his horse onto his head.
You don't have to be stupid. - Australlia has loads of room for development - even the Chinese know that

Rob, you are wasting your time. A is a troll, can't accept facts or reality and keeps changing the goal posts to suit his own narrative. Just my tuppence worth after exploring all the alley ways that he goes up to try and avoid scrutiny.

Everyone has their own opinion and AL has a lot of opinions and really isn't that what debating is all about, you don't have to believe in everything you read in the news, on TV, or what you hear, we all make our own opinion to what we think is right, there are lies and BS everywhere in our world and of course editor's are going to write or say what the boss wants to hear and how much lie's and BS comes out of political mouths, GOVT's are good at it as they only want to tell the public what they want them to know and not the truth.
Myself I just take life as it is and look after my own little world and when I get sick of reading or hearing all the BS I just jump on the bike and go.

Ashley

Yea, of course he did!
The bridge was built by Doorman Long of Middlesborough England, and was shipped down under. The best of British engineering. . . . . . .
