the fuel here is transparent green, I figured it would be full of ethanol coz it clogs up my carbs on my bikes if left sitting for a month, its a real pain, so I did some tests on the unleaded fuel and also the 100 octane Petron sell at the pump, I use the 100 in my much modified Skyteam Ace, I was expecting quite a high ethanol content, instead there was none at all. so it beats me what they are adding to the gas, this problem doesnt seem so prevalent in cars although my small engined 660cc 3cyl carburetted car has to have the carburettor cleaned every few months, same problem I suspect, it uses a Mikuni carburetor.

Gasoline Problems - Enertech Labs

Deposit Formation. When deposit control additives (detergent-dispersants) are not used at adequate levels in gasoline, harmful deposits can build up inside the ...

I think you could be on to something there Steve with the reduction in detergents in the gas, maybe thats why when I tried to use this green gas for cleaning parts it was all but useless compared to the redish gas I used to get years ago for cleaning parts. a couple of years ago here someone was selling LPG conversion kits for motorcycles, at the time I thought
I could convert the fueltank of one of my Sachs Madass's which if you have seen one , you will know that the fuel tank is part of the frame and would have no problem converting it to hold the LPG, maybe I'll have to get that idea ticking over again, bugger the green goo.

We seem to recall a big problem that Mobil had with petrol refining in Singapore (?) a while back - too much of a trace additive was added, and it contaminated the fuel systems of everything in the asia region, including aircraft (piston engined). Cost Mobil a fortune to rectify. The quantity involved was minute, but the effect was huge - and the additives name was obscure and unpronounceable. Complicated stuff, these fuels....

All of the classic cars that I look after here in Hong Kong clog up if not used for several weeks, it doesn't seem a problem for high-pressure fuel injection systems in modern cars. I suspect that we have the same fuel supplier as The Philippines since we have no refinery here.

Oh my maddasss I'm a long time vapor fuel guy and built 406 Chevy SB optimalized for it to use in my van with rear frame replaced by dual 40 lb tanks. Only weed eater I'm interested in is propane and same with my 10Kw back up gen set, can sit for years w/o corrosiives in oil or fuel going stale so starts right up each and every time no matter the blizzard temps. Now they got the LPG in EFI kits instead of the evaporator carbs so if we could figure out a decent tank system ...

hehe my van made 366 hp 375 lbft at 4600 rpm before Over The Hill Gang carb ran out of fuel flow, which just needs some filing on the 3 finger size needle. Funny that its exhaust smelled like a camp stove. Btw propane flame goes out by O2 starvation before life threatening levels reached so safe to burn inside.

I'd be very careful about putting that to the test ?
Anyone who disagrees isn't going to be around if its not correct...?!!

I just had a KLF300 quad carb pilot jet clog up (don't think our fuel is much better than yours), real pain getting to the jet as the carb is in the bowels of the bodywork. Stuck some old redex I had lying around in fresh fuel and 2 days later its clear, did some running up and down a hill and down the hill kept to throttle closed to increase draw on pilot twice a day for 15 mins.
