I’ve had mostly good luck at Cal DMV, but some times it’s like Forest Gump said about stupid.

Even at the DMV you can get people who cannot spell - thank your lucky stars you are not driving around in a Maserati. . . .or a Morbidelli.

My Combat CA title said 1973. When I applied for the Oregon title I put down 1972. I haven't had any issues with pre-VIN serial numbers, I think there are enough older cars and bikes here that it's not a problem. I've also had good luck at the nearby DMV, even had one guy get excited to know he was going to be seeing a Norton that day.
