Ebay bargain?

I tried to copy & paste the url, Sorry guys I'm old and terrible with computers.

This, I think.

This, I think.

That's it L.A.B. Thanks for the help.

Non-matching numbers, and an engine that "does not spin over" as stated in the auction. I am curious to find out what it ultimately sells for.

Add 30k for the resto= 60kus+-
I just sold an immaculate, great running, restored bike for 50k us.

It's sure to top $30K

It's got $10K worth of bike, and $20K worth of genuine patina...

Well guys, I tapped out on this one. Any of you that know of Vincent in the US, please contact me. I'm in SW Florida and will travel anywhere in the states. Thanks Gary

Now that the auction is over, I'll say that tapping out was probably a smart move.

I was close...
Yes! :)
One photo looking down the rear carb looked like the slide may have corrode-welded itself to the body; it takes water to do that--and salt? For the obvious amount of time the engine was untouched, the internals could have been encased in a massive ball of iron oxide. Headstock numbers looked a bit strange. According to J Bickerstaff's "Original Vincent" The works frame numbers stopped at 13034; the frame# is quoted to be in the 19000's...?

However, I liked the patina as well. :)

With Vincents, you can easily end up with $80k invested in a $50k bike. It happens.

When I bought my Vincent basket case in 2000 everyone I asked said I’d probably paid too much for it.
When I asked where I could find a cheaper one, the answer was invariably “you’ll be lucky, they hardly ever come up for sale”

Errr Duh !!

On an open auction site, provided there was no lying or miss selling, the bike has achieved its market value, by definition.

A project + resto = more than the finished project because the project purchaser is generally naive and optimistic.
They tend to set the market value with those qualities .
I'll bet most of us have done it at some point.
The restoration process is a lot of fun though.

Please get in touch with me. I believe I have a lead on good running red Rapide with a big Sid history.
