I put two new tires on 2000 miles ago, road like I stole it, and now look at tread pattern.

The rear doesnt show any squiggle cuts in center tread, Are missing these squiggles indicators of "worn out"?

Front tread depth at center line 5.62mm
Rear tread depth at center line 3.28mm

I have no idea of this center line tread depth when new

Look for the TWI (Tread Wear Indicator) markings at various positions on both sides of the tyre.

They should align with raised areas in the tread grooves. Ideally, the tyre should be changed before it wears down to those raised markers.

I used to have the same problem with Avon Road Rider 100/90/19" rears on my Commando. Bald in less than 2,000 miles. I think it has a lot to do with how these engines put the power down. My mate has a 690 KTM single which he rides hard. It finishes a rear 160/60/17" off in 2,300 miles yet his Honda RC30 which is heavier & far more powerful does almost 5,000 to a rear. The best way to get longer life out of a Commando rear is to fit a 18" rear & then you can fit a rear specific tyre. This will give you 3,000 to 3,500 miles.

Thank you LAB
I measure 2mm of wear left before I wear down to raised areas found at arrows on this rear tire.
I found a piece of wire embedded in the tread while inspecting, so not a bad idea to check tread.
Almost afraid to pull the wire out, but only in about 1mm.

I am running 25-28psi

Thanks Matchless, I think I will buy spare 19" tires for inventory, Just no time for rim change out.

It does have a lot to do with air pressure. With lower pressures we get better traction although limited to lower speeds. The carcass will run hotter with lower pressures. The tread surface will run hotter with higher pressures. Good tires just don’t get good mileage. “Good” meeting good cornering, good stickiness, soft.

Tractor tires. And yes, if you USE that prodigious torque, the skinny tires goes away FAST.

TT100 wear fast because of their triangular profile I think. Do you that have wide rims do better with tyre mileage? A WM2
cannot possibly help the situation.

Try running 32 psi in the rear, you might get better mileage. 28 imo is low.
