I see that Old Britts has RK 98 link 530 chain for about $26 or so. Everything else I see, especially the Renolds are well over $100. What's the deal here, am I missing something? I just want a street chain that won't break, I'm not racing. I remember buying bulk chain back in the 70's for about $25 for a 100 link, but of course that is not relevant.

Yep, that's the one I bought from them recently. Just street ride like you, surprising how cheap chains are.
I remember buying a new cam chain because it was less than $20, how can you do wrong?

Thats seems like a little better than fair price for RK std 530. They might be spinning it off a big roll and passing the savings on to you cause your such a fine fellow. Stay away from HD chain, clearance issues. Fred and Ella don't inherantly sell junk.

I just put an Old Britts standard 100 link inexpensive chain on my bike.
My old chain for my old 19 tooth transmission sprocket was 98 links so I went to the 100 link since I put a 21 tooth sprocket on and didn't want to come up short.
Works fine although the wheel is far enough back on the adjuster that the 98 would probably also work with the 21 tooth sprocket.
I believe the box it can in said Indonesia as where it was manufactured. I couldn't see any obvious signs of inferior quality.
I did find the clip that came with it too hard to put on so I used my old one that fits fine.

An Indonesian-made chain and a second-hand master link clip?

Some people just like living dnagerously.

"An Indonesian-made chain and a second-hand master link clip?"

Probably better than the badly made and badly fitting cr@p sold by Andover-Norton! ;)
