Dommie oil tank

I am trying to gain some info before removing stuff. The Dominator has a single Mikuni. If I could shift the oil tank about 1/4" to the outboard side I could fit in a K&N filter. Is it possible with the two mounting bolts under the oil tank to make this move? I am imagining taking out the oil tank/batterybox platform and slotting the holes. The froth tower would be very close to the frame. I believe it would be almost unnoticeable.

Sorry, I have nothing meaningful to add other than what you said about slotting the through holes. My Atlas had a Mikuni but couldn’t come up with any thing substantial myself. I went to monoblocs.

I'd be a bit worried about froth tower too close to the frame. Being rubber mounted the oil tank do move around a bit. I use sock foam filters from Ramair on some bikes where space is limited.

I will tackle the project on Friday. I got it to start up for the first time in who knows how many years.

I pulled out the oil tank/battery box platform, stuck it in the mill and extended the holes outwards. Made a spacer to shift the oil tank outwards at the top bracket. I can now run a K&N air filter on the single Mikuni (barely).
