Some time ago I put my name in the hat to see if I'm lucky enough to get my hands on Dominator SS. Yesterday I got a call from SBN that my name came up for a Dominator SS. Thing is there's a dealer (less than 15 mins away) in Dallas area where I purchased my '14 CR. I guess these bikes are very limited in that not all dealerships are getting allocation. Matt from SBN has been extremely informative and pleasant over the phone. I went to my local dealer whom I've gotten close on first name basis to discuss this opportunity. He told me today that they are having issues with Norton on warranty work. They aren't getting paid by Norton for the warranty work they've performed. Another issue is they aren't getting any dealer support from Norton with parts. They have a CR waiting on a part since September!! I'm torn because I really want Dominator but afraid that if something were to happen, will I get proper support from my poor dealer who cannot get any real help from Norton?? What should I do???

I wish there was an easy answer. I only live 150 miles from the factory so dealing with any issues have never been a problem for me. Perhaps speak to the supplying dealer and not the one most local to you to see what type of interaction they have with factory. Give the factory a call and speak to them about their warranty work. They may be able to assure you and deal with any issues you have. The bottom line will be will you at some point in the future say to yourself "I wish I had bought that when I had the chance". Good luck with your decision.

Have you had any issues with yours? Do you also own a 961? If so, how does it compare since they both have the same (very close) power plant? Thank you in advance.

I have the Dominator not the SS but did go for the alloy tank. Its the same frame and engine. Only minor differences in details. No issues with mine so far but only 500 miles as winter here sucks. A friend has a 961 Commando. Few niggles with his jumping out of gear etc. Found to be a warped clutch I think but I am sure he will post as he's on this forum. Dealt direct with the Factory who have been nothing but exemplary in getting his problems sorted. I think all of the early faults have been rectified by now and I think Norton on were basically using the customer to do the research.

She's a beauty. I've been told the US units are not equipped with aluminum tank due to EPA requirements. Sure is pretty with it though.

Thanks. I thought all the SS's had alloy tanks. I know there was a problem with the Monza cap leaking and this was replaced with a screw on one as mine has. I recall being at the factory and seeing several ready for despatch to the US which had the alloy tank so I would be surprised if it has changed.

hello, I have a little problem with my Norton SS Dominator at the moment.
I start the bike, drive 100 km, put the bike down and 10 minutes later I want to start it again but the engine is only running on a cylinder. I wait for three quarters of an hour until the engine is cold and I can drive the motorcycle back on two cylinders.
Can anyone understand?
Thanks Marc

Hi Can one of you Dominator boys help me by taking pics of your brembo master cylinders please. (close ups top n bottom) starting to get a bit weird this isn't it :D

Have asked in the other 961 sections but no answers to my questions on the CRG carbon levers.

Basically the parts at AF1 state "Dominator" I believe that will fit the 961 CF as well but need a few pic to see if i'm correct, would be an expensive exercise to get them returned from Aus to US.

Link to my thread here so you can see the AF1 parts pages --> What the ??

Ok Cool thanks for the info, even messaged CRG themselves a month ago and they asked for pics, sent the one's in my previous post but they have also gone quiet on me.
