Dominator megaphone pipes - baffle solutions ??

Well, therein lies another failed promise... SGs Norton was gonna build a super light high BHP rotary remember? That one was stillborn.

All of your problems are solved and desires met here sir... and only for a mere £25k...

Another good bike kept in a graveyard (museum)
They are supposed to be used..
This is what will happen to the V4s etc.
At least there will not be many warranty claims.

Got some Leo Vinci baffles modified to fit the Dominator. Much more pleasant, neighbor friendly, and usable.

May I ask what the tape is for?
Sure. If I remember correctly there was a bit of furring/crazing of the clear coat, which could have been poor finish, or part of the aesthetic, but I thought it might be from the heat of the exhaust. I had a bit of heat reflective tape lying around so I put a strip on just in case.

The exhaust doesn’t get that hot in that area. You can touch it right after a hard ride. As you said it’s most likely crazing or if you store your bike in a area that’s not heated in the winter or fall it’s rust forming under the clear coat.
I don’t wash my bikes with any water, I use a micro fiber towel and WD40.
My Domi Naked is one bike I always wipe down with WD40

I havent had to wash mine yet either. Like you say, just a wipe down. Good advice.

You need a cable operated from the h/bars butterfly valve in the exhaust .
A slightly quieter vroom vroom shuld result.

I do the same - microfibre and good old WD40 - works over here as there is little inclement weather. This works less well though for the cast/billet ally components (triple claps, top yoke, engine block, cooling fins, foot peg hangers etc). Not sure whether these components are coated? Have been looking for an effective ally cleaner for some time. Was gonna try this but it is primarily for uncoated ally. What are you guys using?

I literally use WD40 on all my bikes. The Engine, exhaust and header pipes, polished aluminum, matte carbon fiber, gas tank, wheels, frame, pegs, yolks, you name it. Everything except the tires, grips and brakes.

On my bikes with gloss paint I use pledge furniture polish. It gives a nice lemon scent.

I hear you, I do mostly the same although it’s been a few decades since the wife last rumbled me stealing the pledge! Surely you’ve discovered Canunbra wax :) ? But for those cast/billet ally components WD 40 does’nt work that well for me. It still leaves ingrained grime on those surfaces that results in staining. If we were riding through a UK winter we would likely be using a degreaser (Gunk etc) and (carefully) jetwashing off the detritus!

I’m gonna try the above product and we’ll see how we go. Not a very sexy subject I know! My guess is that most of you guys are too busy out riding your machines to worry about the niff naff and trivia:rolleyes:!

Lemon scent? You could be blindfolded and be able to sniff out your bike in the bike park !

Alloy cleaner?
Alloy is a metal as soon as it is exposed to air, it will become tarnished . I used to use Jizer engine degreaser, washed off with water, just don't get it in you eyes.

For us blingy blokes that have polished yokes and wheels, I find solvol autosol slightly abrasive so I use Alu Belgom which is less abrasive and seems to keep the shine longer.

To retain the shine and save your elbow grease, I would get from a car factors some ally wheel lacquer to be put on right after you have polished it.

Once a year I’ll use mother’s aluminum polish or never dull to give all the polished bits a once over.
I also use carnuba once a year on the gloss painted parts and then pledge furniture polish as a touch up.
I must add that I don’t ride my bikes in foul weather so that helps.

Products for the shiny metal bits and the gloss paintwork is not a difficulty, a million products for that - most of which work pretty well. My issue is a more effective way to clean the cast/billet ally components listed above. Does anyone know whether they are coated with anything, or are they untreated? Tried Solvo Autosol for aluminium however, this is a polish of course and although it cleaned it also started to polish the otherwise matt surface of the aluminium. Any other suggestions that don’t include a degreaser and bucket loads of water would be welcomed. Like Voodoo I am a fair weather rider and as luck would have it, the weather is generally pretty good on the Sunshine Coast :)

If you have the natural aluminum looking yolks and dash, those are clear anodized. The other bare aluminum parts are raw castings.
