The head scratching continues....

Just try to sort the wiring on my 600 twin cafe racer and I am slightly puzzled. Yesterday I went through everything and was quite pleased that I got all the lighting working again and the horn etc. Today I thought that I would test the battery charging (presumed it wasn't charging becasue all the wiring was in such a mess previously) but to my supprise 12.5 volts is all that I saw at the battery when revved.

I took the primary cover off to test continuity in the charging circuit and found that I only have two wires coming from the alternator (green / yellow and green / white) and there is no green and black as stated in the manual.....the rest of the wiring is standard with a zener diode and rectifier (magneto ignition).

Am I missing something (well obviously I am) but if it's correct that it should only have two, then what is the wiring setup for the rectifier??

Appreciate your help guys!

It's possible that a later two wire RM21 (or RM23) stator has been fitted? Look for numbers stamped on the outer face of the stator frame ring?

Connect each stator wire one of the two rectifier AC terminals (the outer two terminals of the three on a Lucas rectifier, it doesn't matter which wire goes to which AC terminal.

The "green/white" stator wire should in fact be a white/green wire = a white wire with a green tracer).
