Deleted PM’s

So I was pm’ing a member but my messages somehow got deleted I don’t recall the site members screen name so I can’t just send a new pm, question is where did my pm’s go? I didn’t delete them.
 
Do you mean all your saved PMs disappeared or just those to the particular member?
 
I didn’t save the pm’s but also didn’t delete them so I assume they should be there when I click on the envelope.
 
If a PM is sent then it should be saved in your conversations section (so the member you sent it to can reply) and shouldn't have disappeared.
When you click the Conversations envelope do you then see "Show all"?
 
I've still got a long list of pm's, even from today.
Only time I lost any was a couple of yes ago. I think the other member was somehow removed from the site, unknown reasons.

Yes and it reads “ start new conversation “. So confused

Clicking "Show all" should take you to your previous conversations. Edit: unless the "Filters" setting has changed? They should not delete automatically. Are you saying they have all disappeared from the "Show all" page?
Clicking "New Conversation" allows you to start a new conversation directly from there instead of the saved conversations page.
 
Ok I’m a bit dim some times but the member I was conversing with just sent a pm so I’m back on track with him and thru your help I learned that I need to click show all to return to my previous pm’s

They time out. But still there.
