no rides today .... dead center of Dorian's path .... facing sustained gusts of 150+kph and more than 100mm of rain , with 30mm an hour at times ..... had a similar experience 16 years ago with hurricane Juan , it beat us up bad .... sure hope my bike shed will take the pounding .... have lots of chocolate bars and chips to carry us through .... guess global weather change is real , Juan was supposed to be our 100year storm .... this is fourth in my memory .....Yikes !!!

Just checkedwith my fav weather guy, Frankie MacDonald, and he seems quite concerned:

Been upgraded to category 2 hurricane with sustained gusts 160-180kph ... trees coming down , power outages , flooding .... and center of storm still one hour out for us , Jo got dinner ready early spaghetti and meatballs , yeah !! Other side of street from us has no power now for a while , we still lit

glad you and yours are OK we had a bad one here in 89 called Hugo I can still remember the smell from all the downed pines...

Did I say feeling lucky !!! My sister in law in Halifax has had no power more than 24 hrs now , back on estimate is Tuesday ... they got big tree down in driveway and another on back deck , Jo’s 92 yr old Mom still has no power or water Jo over there now helping sort things out , for most in our town there always water as water plant up above me and whole system is gravity no boosters until other side of river called Bible Hill ....
