Cylinder base gaskets???

Sorry Foxey, I should have specified top and bottom. I did that over 30 years ago and my memory is not what it was. That version didn't leak though, when I fitted it with just silicone sealer it did leak, with the scribing and sealer it was still not leaking when I gave the bike away.

I had to think a bit more to recall how I made my lines, I did not have a Dremel. I think that may have been the one I made little center fillers a hole saw but I'm not sure. There was one I O ringed using a drill press also, but I don't think that was the Norton. I also used to scribe the cases but I suspect the new Yamabond stuff would make that unnecessary.

I'm in the process of building my 750 engine and have a recommendation to run zero deck/piston clearance (haven't checked it yet) so if I have to raise the cylinder and don't want to do it with a paper gasket I'll be looking.

If I remember correctly from a previous discussion, I think you may have to go the other way? As I think the pistons are generally around 0.020" below the top face of the barrels?

Leo Goff suggested zero deck clearance. He may be talking about more high performance applications. I'll cc the combustion chambers and see what I need to get 10:1. I'm thinking this will be good with the 560NR cam.
