Blue, red... I have here Loctite/Henkel 243 (blueish, normal strength) and 270 (greenish, high strength).
Brochure says: loosening moments on a M10 bolt: for 243: 20Nm/14.8ftlb, for 270: 38Nm/28ftlb.
Which one you guys reckon is best to use for tightening as well as unscrewing the stud nuts? Bennie.

If you are referring to a stud, you really do not want it to back out so red loctite is the choice. If it is a nut on a stud such as a rocker cover, then blue loctite. Bearing locking compound is in a class of its own.

When I began Trixies 4th redo...............

Reminds me of the age old story about why female english teachers make the best lovers...............they make you do it over and over until you get it right. :P

As regards Norton I wouldn't have much luck if not for the bad kind. I fully admit to destroying drive trains primary sprocket and belts to shafts and bushes and drum and gear cog teeth but ain't hurt any Norton engine by my own fault, yet. I've run a hand full of V8's in cars, jet boat and van plus a Corvair engine into smoking junk though : ) Tried to convert a air cooled riding mower to water cooled, 15 ft deep in a canal if that counts. Ugh forgot about the Taurus V6 a water crossing did in it - about 10 miles later. I agree I shouldn't be allowed to drive, but gotta catch me first.

Tease me all you like but its real life issue to me and yes admit its driven me bonkers and try not bleed too much on others in public. Its a constant hazard I have to actively avoid rather than actively onset just getting to tarmac. What's so bonkers about it is no matter if I go slow or fast its about as crazy making slap downs. Ain't just me either, I've video of my buddy Wes last summer describing going really easy and slow on his '69 Bonne and was slapped right down in the weeds and graveled ditch, saying- " Everything fine then its like you're on Snot! Maybe you'll make it, maybe you won't. This happens so routinely I've developed an angry aggressive attitude-style to always be about to slide out on purpose and always be in a state I can power up to spin and noy just slip on out or drift off The Edge. There are times I hang off like a racer knee sticking way out, in terror, because I can't counter steer forks any bit more or lean bike any bit more or slip/drift over the edge, so its a saving rescue load relieving posture to to me not a way to go around loaded better, pashaw. I've had it drift over the edge any way, YIKES!, then nothing to lose going beserk.

Expanding on this allows going around pretty sharp turns on nil traction almost upright while straight steering, which I call phase 5 handling, which is like a rolling burn out. but not drifting wide or crossed up. Only video of this on internet are MX bikes horizontal with rear in a deep rut or ice spiked speedway racers. Fine as long as you don't loose or out run tire spin power and rpm range, then its Hi Side City. I don't go into blinds I can't see the whole surface
plains as even dead bug bodies can grease a wet spot in turns. So yes indeed ain't no surprise wet oiled sanded or missing pavement gonna trip me out.

I also know never ever depend on front wheel/forks to steer me unless going as slow and you racers take corners, No Sir Ree Bob, I feak out to Stroke Level RAGE and trip the son of a bitch right out on my terms! My other motto is
< THE Rear Rules The Roost! >
I've got a light brute in my living room if ya think I'm talking fluff to live in digital rear traction world in effortless neutral glee, [but for the fighter pilot breath control to see next opening], then someone is more out of touch with reality than me. To me there is not another cycle in the workd that can take and deliever the G's forces like my good ole skinny tyred isolastic flexy flyer tamed by rump rod and helpers. I want throttle response you can't snap throttle back fast enough not to hit rev limiter. My real hobby is never crashing, especially in harsh turns. Screw crank fasteners Peel is welded and nitrided soiid.

How wrong is this?

The true hierarchy of motorcycle refinement:
First you make it handle,
Second you make it stop, and
Third you make it go.

You ain't been around man.

So what does all this have to do with crank hardware?

NOthing at all so re-read what's been written, chow.

Unless you have expressed a sudden burst of hunger it is "Ciao"

Back on thread - when assembling the crankshaft pieces, don't over-torque the bolts and use an appropriate thread locking compound. Stake the nuts if you need to. Someone here suggested using a wrench and a simple pull scale to get the correct torque - solid idea.
