Industrial food production isn't functional or moral. Greed, a growth economy based on disposable materialistic crap that nobody appreciates, overpopulation, self inflicted ignorance or illiteracy, a media that promotes this worldwide, our indoctrinal so called education system that brainwashes new participants, a president who is a poster child for all the above but the other choice was instant socialism. Either way the special animals got more power. Why is covid19 a surprise?

I was taught in scouts to leave the campground cleaner than we found it. My mother taught me to take care of everything you can so you have time to help those less fortunate. My employers taught me to work smarter not harder. I learned from books that a democratic governments purpose is to provide a level playing field for all to participate but no stepping on others toes.

We all come into this world somewhere between passive and aggressive. Regardless we all need to know personal responsibility. Forest Gumps mom said "A man only needs so much money to live on, the rest is for showing off". It ain't just money for nuthin and the chicks are free.

This forum may have the most intelligent educated group of members of any I go to and I love you all. I learn something every time I come here. Its odd that the aftermath of WWC starts the same day as the war but the banker lawyer house of cards table got slammed like only Chris Farley could do. There will be a changing of the guards and the same sleazy liars will be in line for new positions. Write letters, raise your voice, point fingers or else we patch the boat and jump back in.

I hope I don't regret posting this,
Luke

Elsewhere, there's this:

And this:

The Coronavirus-Denial Movement Now Has a Leader
Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro has lashed out against local officials who have implemented severe lockdowns, accusing them of destroying the country.

Coronavirus has held the mirror up to some people's behaviour. It might change a few people. I think our world will be different, especially in the way risks are managed.

I think there will be some sort of change in society in the coming months ,
I can't imagine Industrial farming changing too much though!
In the UK there are people that were (just) getting by
A lot of the poorest people have lost their jobs
Some are getting 80% of their income from the government
Self employed have no choice but to go to work (I know some can claim in 2 months time)
People will go hungry and when that happens
I think you will see a different side of society

Can't say it's related to this crisis but my car and a neibors van were broken into the other night
Smashed my side window smashed my interior rear view mirror
And pulled the fuse panel out
They got about £3 in change
Did the same to my neibors van but he woke up and chased them
Two kids wearing masks
2.30am when I phoned the police at 7am they gave me the incident number and said the case was closed because the kids had masks on!!

You should have disrespected a minority group online.... that'd get 'em out

We had an intruder once, the police were nice and polite and attentive, but totally ineffective.

They were only interested in what cctv footage could be gleaned. Whatever happened to good old fashioned policing, eh? Neither Sherlock Holmes nor Inspector Morse had such at their disposal !

I seriously considered splashing out on extensive cctv until I realised it might be used in evidence should our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks make a meal of an intruder ...

I strongly agree with that Baz. If you shut society down... society breaks down.

As you say, a lot of people live pretty much hand to mouth these days for income. They simply cannot continue within ‘the rules’ if their income is switched off.

Also, most supply chains are pretty much Just In Time these days, they depend on a constant flow. A constant flow in, a constant flow of logistics, a constant flow out. Stop this and things go downhill pretty fast.

I simply do not believe it is possible to maintain an orderly lockdown for months on end.

But the alternative is an overwhelmed NHS.

It’s at times like this I’m glad I’m not the one having to call the shots !

The police didn't even bother to knock on my door or put a note through my letter box
Luckily it wasn't raining as my car was left completely open
Glass across the road etc
Oh well back to Corona virus'

My daughter is self employed she has tried with out success to put in a claim
My son has been put on furlough he wasn't getting by before and now at 80%income?
I have mates that are self employed they have to go to work
I have been off self isolating since Tuesday but I will have to go back to work on Wednesday as I'm in construction

That's one of the good things about our Castle Doctrine here.... The bad thing is dealing with your state of mind should you choose to eliminate someone for theft on your property, and then deal with the family as they claim he was turning his life around in civil court.... If it deteriorates past a certain point authorities will probably just send you a bill for pick up & disposal of the body, or inform you of your responsibility to clean up your mess.
The evil people are already planning and on the move.

Defending one’s self and defending one’s property are two separate things, in a court of law. That may change if outright anarchy is a result of this pandemic.

You can pop'em here, but you may open yourself up to civil action, so unless you've got the old bodily harm thing going it's not the wisest course of action due to this. Anything on your premises constitutes your castle. No premeditation either.

Tony Martin the farmer from Northolk knows all about that!

Except TM shot one in the back running away (he had released on bail papers in his pocket) no wonder the gypsy were fuming, they all brought it upon themselves. But if the law won't protect you, the whole thing blows up in your face. Now TM has a police station outside his house. . . . . .
