Hi all, I noticed after a 130 mile trip in the rain on my Commando that there was a weird peeling happening on my nearly-new Corbin Gunfighter seat. It seems like a spray adhesive coating that is rubbing off. Does anyone know if Corbin applies some type of strange sealant to the surface of their seats? It certainly doesn't stand up to abuse.

Corbin Seat Issue

Thanks,
Aaron

Aaron, you may find FAR MORE Corbin seat threads/info over at www.advrider.com , so the chances of someone having seen this failure are better. Good luck.

Wow never seen anything like that before .... that would be the genuine leather seat area too .... I have a plain Corbin GF and have sprayed seat area with waterproofer each spring .... nothing like that has happened .... about 8 years now ...

That looks like the "black carbon fiber", which, interestingly, is not offered in the seating area (just the side/back areas) per the website. "Some materials are no longer offered because they don't hold up with long term use"

Yes it does look like the CF option ... I wonder if seat was modified or did it come direct from Corbin .... I thought all their seats came with real leather seat / bum area ...

Calling Corbin may be the shortest distance to an answer; the source is always the best resource...
