My seat finally came today. Took 16 weeks as opposed to their 6-8 week policy, but I was impressed with the quality. Rear is black painted fiberglass. Gonna be nice to stash a lock and some other items in the trunk....

Very Nice...I want one too. They cost almost as much as I paid for my Commando, though.

They are handsome looking. Gets you down to a single-seater for all practical purposes, though, unless you are willing to swap out seats all the time, and I like the idea that I may have an unexpected passenger from time to time

The only good thing I have to say about Corbin SEATS is that they LOOK good.

I have NOTHING good to say about the company, or ANY aspect of it's dealings with the motorcycling public. I also have nothing good to say about the price or "comfort" levels of Corbin seats.

As my momma used to say, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything."

So, other than the fact that they LOOK good, I'll say nothing more.

You were half way there so you might as well just spill the beans about Corbin.

Oh and to Pelican....I'm serious about my question with being able to fit a sixer in the trunk.

Corbin is probably the most popular after market seat for the Harley-Davidson. That should give you a clue. Form over function, no matter the cost to comfort. Most long distance riders I know swear by a Russell seat. I have a Corbin Gunfighter on my 72 Combat. I would not want to sit on it all day. Have a Corbin Dual Touring on my BMW K 75. Not too bad for the first 100 miles or so.

When Old Britts had his fire sale, I treated myself to one of his single seats (can't remember what he calls it). It is very comfortable and looks good too. He does make a two seat version which I believe I would have been equally happy with. I've always thought that the Corbins have looks only and for one thing they are too wide. Not so with the Old Britts seat.

I have Corbins on both my Commando and my 96 Triumph Thunderbird. Both very comfortable, well made seats IMO. I find the one on the Commando less comfortable but I think this has more to do with peg-to-seat geometry than the seat itself. I think someone mentioned on this forum that they feel that they are sitting too low in Corbin on a Commando. Sitting low is a plus (you feel like you are part of the bike rather than perched on top of it) but puts my knees at a less than 90 degree angle with stock pegs. I am 6'1" so shorter riders may find Corbins more comfortable on Commandos. Corbins are definitely WIDE as someone else mentioned which effectively increases the height of the bike. This should be a major consideration for shorter riders who are considering putting a Corbin a tall British bike. I have done several 200 mile days on my Commando without any problem and I just did a couple of 400 mile days on my T-Bird. So in my opinion, Corbin seats look great, are very comfortable and I would certainly buy another one.

coco- nah, you can only fit 4 across and have a little extra room at the back for small items because it tapers up in the middle for the rear fender.

Corbin will trim the width of their seats to order at no cost. As a rider who wanted to touch ground on my Mk3 with both boots, I had them remove 1/2 inch on both sides, which worked perfectly for me. They also offered to skim the padding, but I passed, knowing their reputation for a firm cushion.

Come on GranPaul, what's your Corbin story?

My Corbin story is 8 years of over a dozen forums (8 of which I moderate or co-moderate).

Literally HUNDREDS of accounts of horrible customer service
Seats that feel like upholstered bricks to all but about 10% of the owners (arguable percentage, but close)
Exhorbitant price for the product delivered
Ridiculously long wait time measured in MONTHS beyond original "promised" date
Total lack of customer care unless you show up in person at thier shop, EARLY in the morning

...and those are the typical complaints. There are far worse complaints, some taken to BBB and other remedial avenues.

Full disclosure - I've only PAID for ONE Corbin seat (well below 1/2 price, used), and sold it with a rolling project bike.

Personal opinion: They are arguably the nicest LOOKING seat you can put on a Commando.

That's about the height, length and breadth of it.

Going for a beer run with a back pack is no fun.

That's why you need multiple bikes. Explain to your wife that you also need a bike with proper room for beer as it is a shame to spoil the sleek looks of a Norton with bags.

I put a pair of leather bags on my Roadster to go to Nortona. My wife said, "It looks like one of those Harley-thingies"

Bags are hanging in the garage :)

Why ? They only use more fuel and whinge that your going too fast
Amen to that brother! .... That's a real nice seat. I was admiring it on another bike not too long ago.

I mainly got it so I could put a lock in there and a couple tools. Still room left over. I like to take a lot of day trips...ride somewhere, spend the night, ride back
