Contact Breaker Screw Set

Andover Norton sells a set of 8 contact breaker screws. The set doesn’t include any washers. The screws on my 1974 Commando have tiny split washers under each screw. The washers are old and may be the original washers, and have pretty much been flattened to the point of losing the effect of the split. Does anyone know where these tiny split washers can be sourced?

A good hardware store or a nut and bolt supplier. You need flat and lock washers that fit the diameter of the screws. Try USA type as well as metric to get the best fit.

Split locks are useless.
Use loctite #222 with just a flat washer.

with 2 pairs of pliers you can bend them out again.

But even after this, they are useless other than as an indication of tension on the screw.
Bit like tits on a bull really.

Those are 4BA (3.62mm) screws so any 4 mm washers will fit ( or may be 3.5mm, if any )
