First off, don't get your chopper info from TV. They show nothing but shit. Also, my Norton was cut up years ago. Trying to restore it would not be worth the time, money, and effort.
Fuck it, There are enough stock or Cafe Nortons in this world already.
I'm no motorcycle snob, as many Brit bike owners seem to be. I just like British bikes, and old HD's, and old Hondas, etc.
I agree, most of them in this thread are ugly. I like my Norton because its interesting, its different, and it will be flawless when its done.
Also, it'll put the smack down on plenty of old Shovels, Pans, whatever. I can't wait to get next to some of my buddies!
And about choppers not being safe, I know guys that can build, not some hack jobs, but choppers to ride. Pans, Shovels, Knuckles, Triumphs. Good handling (for a chopper) old bikes that get thousands of miles a year.
Ever ride a chopper long distance? They're great on the long straits, maybe not the twisties, but there aren't many from here to Minneapolis, or Iowa, or SD, or Chicago.
Honestly, if someone doesn't hate it, it wouldn't be right.
BTW, when is the next Norton meet? I'm sure I could get a good spot next to some beautifully restored trailer queen.
