I just ran across this listing on eBay.

I have no idea of the quality of this product, but I do know there were some pretty poor quality Norton drums coming out of India back in the late '80's. These guys go on about the sprocket made from SG Iron, etc. I don't know if that is hogwash or truly advanced metals.

What I do know is the part number and description does not match the photos. The photos are either early Commando or possibly Atlas/Dominator because it is for a bolt up wheel, not a cush drive.

The price of this drum might be tempting as it is about half of what many are getting for new Andover drums, but I don't think I'll be risking it.

Have one of the silly things in front of me and can not recommend purchase ,my main concern being the cut of the teeth. Hard to describe, each toothy thing seems to end at a point. Genuine seems to have more meat with a flat top to each tooth. Don't know how this Indian cut would match up with genuine chain which is what I run. If anyone could comment on this we both would appreciate the input. Just got back from 2 months of backpacking India b.t.w. and inconsistent quality is understandable as business is always moving towards cheapest labour costs. Rented 4 bikes there and those Royal Oilfields are pretty cool. Peter.

Hi

Burtons British Bikes in England sells the drum/sprocket for crush drive and are made in England for 54 pounds and new brake shoes for 22 pounds which is about under $120 aus, my local shop wants $200 just for the drum/sprocket and over $50 for the brake shoes and they aren't even made in England, who konows where they are made, for $30 shipping I am still way in front and takes lest than 5 days delivery.

Hope this helps

Ashley

I've bought odds and ends for my Bullet from these guy's. No complaints there.
Looks like they're trying to expand. However, somewhat poorly. They should
probly stick with what they know.
