Hi.
1972 combat engine is now apart and has the SS cam with the journals not scrolled.
Both cranckases have plain cam bushes.
Is it correct?
They work fine?.
I knew that with the plain bushes you need the cam with the scrolled journals.
Please, let me understand better.
Thank you.
Piero

it is NOT correct. you MUST have one or the other scrolled and can use both. you also need to either use a flanged timing side cam bush or break off the locating tab on the second washer ( not the cone shaped one ).

I have seen 2s combat cams both ways also comnoz can scroll your cam for non scrolled bush's.

Scrolled Cam, non scrolled bushes = yes
Non scrolled cam, scrolled bushes = yes
scrolled cam, scrolled bushes = yes
Non scrolled cam, non scrolled bushes = NO!

Hi.
I absolutly agree.
But dont you think that non scrolled cam with non scrolled bushes were fitted at first from Norton Company?.
Thanks.
Piero

I also have this problem. I tried to cut the scroll into the cam using a hand-held grinder and I did a bugger of a job of it. The steel is as hard as the hobs of hell.

I doubt it.
