Combat cam advance advice?

Just like Clinton, it ain't really illicit sex if I just degree Trixie stock Combat 2S cam this way or that to change power band. I don't like to rev real Nortons so wondering about trading some top end for mid range. Anyone done this on Combat?
I know the method details, just not the significance to bother.

Trixie is proper Combat so plenty of spunk to get me arrested again, but maybe a bit more responsive in cruise gear would refine her delights even more?

This is justified after changing the combustion chamber but otherwise could cause premature detonation which loses power and causes extra heat in the hottest area of the bike. It's probably best to just make sure the marks are on with a degree wheel and experiment very moderately.

91 octane is tops I can get in most places I frequent. Your remark completely flips my head around on conceiving what happens with advancing cam, thus flashes me back on detonation reports of 1S-tanddrad cam in Combats. Thanks for the heads up.

Plain Jane Trixie Combat will stick to the good book as usual then. I truly feel her about bone stock set up is the most pleasant and easy operation and performance evelope going, easy starts, easy loose rough stuff tame power with excess passing power in traffic and joy rides with smooth going just flowing along.

It used to be known that the 4S cam had a better mid range, & that the 2S cam was a revvier cam.

I've stuck with 28 for points and 31 for Boyer with no problems. At times I have been forced to use regular gas out of my lawnmower gas can with no bad results - no pinging, etc. Even though combat it is very forgiving.

The extra area of torque under the green advance is what I'm seeking to get a bit more of in bone stock Combat on fast rise points curve and fast flow 32 mm Amals.
Just don't know if ok on 91 octance, but betcha it is, and if the crude cog degree method for ~4' adv is about the right fudge factor i'd like. Someone do it 1st please and get back soon.
