It makes no difference which steel plate you replace with the thicker one. I make it the last one inserted but if 3mm isn't enough, I'll try a 4mm and if 3mm is too much, I'll use a standard. So, if it goes in last it's easier to try another. There also is no formula - it all depends on the thickness of the other plates. The cNw fix is different. They provide and extra thinner than standard plate to make the stack thicker.BTW, you can pretty much tell what's needed by putting all plates and the pressure plate in, pushing on the pressure plate, and looking at the distance from the outside of the pressure plate and inside of the circlip groove. If they there's a noticeable gap, you're not thick enough and if the pressure plate is partway into the circlip groove, you're too thick.
