Rainy weekend coming up here in the San Francisco Bay Area , but for anyone who didnt remember or any Brit bike fans visiting this neck of the woods, the Clubman show in San Jose is this Saturday, March 31 ..Just passing it along...

I was going to ride up to that show this year but won't be able to. Please take and post a bunch of photos if you can.

I was going to drive down in a van &3 place bike trailer with four friends. They go every year, a bit of a ritual. The routine is :drive until you cant stand it anymore then stop for the night. Meals are whatever you can get at the gas station while the Van is being fueled. I went along two years ago and felt unwell for about a week after the event!

This year they are taking the "A" team, Robert Watsons original but restored 1939 series A Vincent Rapide 1000 cc vtwin, one of 78 built, Roberts original but restored 1936 Series A 500cc TT Replica,o ne of about 20or so that were built and Dan Smiths A+ creation, built entirely in his basement in 2009/2010 with measurements taken from Roberts original A Rapide. They ar all gorgeous bikes, should be anaward in there somewhere, but then the whole building is filled with beautiful old British bikes.

It has been a ritual of mine too. Very good show every year. And those Vincents, beautiful.
However, the Peoples' Choice won my heart. A Pre-war Norton. 1924 I believe

Here are the two original Series A bike my friend Robert Watson bought as basket cases then restored over a six year period;

the third series A is a reproduction built by a mutual friend in 2009/10, all done in his basement machine shop in 18 months.
He made all of the engine castings and internals , the frame , pretty much the entire bike including the carbs. I don't see it in the photos but Im pretty sure it was on display there somewhere. It is green + black.
