Change the clutch roller cage

Dear All,
i need your help.
I need to change the roller cage of my G15 clutch assy, that is apart.
First time and i have some difficult to understand the way to uncouple the clutch backplate with the clutch centre.
I have the clutch removal tool but i dont think it is usefull for this.

Refer to the exploded drawing:

The nuts, Item (6), are staked and hold the clutch center to the backplate.

When you disassemble, note the orientation of Item (4), the Race Plate. It is drawn backwards in the exploded drawing.

I use red Loctite when assembling the nuts Item (6), and do not stake.

Check the clutch shock absorber center, Item (12), for cracks at the paddle root, and the quality of the shock absorber rubbers. It is best to use new rubbers.

Hi Slick,
roller cage replaced.
Do you think could be a goo idea resleve a little bit the outer side of the clutch chainwheel (the side against the black plate that has some ferodo diggings?.

If you mean "resurface" the back side of the chainwheel, i do not think it will hurt, providing you do not remove much material. The chainwheel is thin in that area.

Basically the same. Atlas used stronger springs to harness the extra torque.

The design of the clutch dates way back. It started life for a 500 cc, 25 hp, engine, gained an extra plain and friction plate when it was upgraded for 600 (or 650?) engines, and maxed out with the 750 engines.
