Hi again everyone my 1960 slimline has the centre stand tied up with cable ties and the main spring dangling loose toward it the only bit I seem to be missing is double U shaped clip which I have now got but having never seen how it is supposed to go I am wondering if someone could post me a pic or a diagram of how this fits together it is made more awkward because I am trying to do it while on the prop stand but it is all pretty well hidden many thanks Chris

Hi again everyone I now have the stand fitted but do not where the top of the spring is supposed to mount I have a triangular plate with the hook on for the spring that was mounted forward of the gearbox on the engine plate but the only way I can see that working is if the spring is attached to the upper crossbar on the stand can anyone confirm if that is correct many thanks Chris

Hi Fritz I have read that before but it does not really help me as being a triton the engine plates are not norton so I need distance measurements from 2 or 3 points from the frame a picture would be a great help as well thanks Chris

Hi again still puzzling over this centre stand top spring mounting is anyone out there using pre unit converta plates because just in front of the sliding g/box adjustment channels there is a hole that looks like it should do the job and I would like to know if this is the intention for it or has it some other use at the moment I am using plates for a norton box but will be changing to a triumph box which I have just acquired I have tried mounting the stud in that hole and it is definitely better than the bodge shown in the pic but it still does not seem to be pulling up the stand the bolts are all new and the stand holes which were worn have been filled with weld and redrilled and it is a little stiff but is movable with one finger which I would have thought the spring should be able to cope with but it is not am I making a fuss about nothing and all will be well when worn in please God
