Can you dismantle a speedo

i've installed new bezels by hand using a the procedure outlined in the above book. basically work slowly using a 6 inch long, 1/4 inch drive extension and forming or rolling the edge. takes a little bit of time, but if that all you have, it works fine. not near as nice a a machine formed edge, but once in the cup holder, it can't be seen.

Yup I did a new glass, seal and rubber mounts on my speedo using hand tools as described in videos etc. Works fine no fuss needed.
Got the Eurojambalya kit. X2, as I intend to do the tacho one day.
Will say the eurojam supplied bezel has a different profile than original. It looks wider from the front than original on my tacho. Best to do both so they match.

Yeah, I got 2 different bezels from EJ. They sent me another which matched one and more like the originals. Pretty prompt about it too. The funky one I got looked like it had been polished to death, there were no sharp edges at all on it. Plus the chrome looked like it had been done on Pluto.

I have some ideas about rolling the bezel on by hand since I now have a spare one, but don't hold your breath. I also have just crimped them on with channel locks like I previously said. It's messy on the back as above but doesn't show.

i purchased my glass/bezel/seal kits from scbritishcycles via fleabay. they were (advertised as) UK made and looked identical to my originals. form, fit, and finish - spot on. heard some negative things about, and staying away from "made in india" bezels - no first hand experience - just didn't want to take a chance just to save a buck.

I needed the 6 rubber gaskets on the back too. I only found them at EJ plus it included the SS screws. I looked a that fleabay seller and he only lists the bezels alone now that I can see.

I bought an inexpensive ($15.00) India bezel set and it is about 5mm larger than original. Useless.

If you have a Lathe you can make a fixture to hold the speedo/tacho with the bezel and rubber compressed and then you can roll the bottom of the bezel over the lip of the main case.

You can make a simple cheap roller to mount in the lathe toolpost just drill and tap a square piece of metal to hold a ball roller bearing.
Mount on tool post, and carefully set it and feed it onto chrome bezel.....simple.
I would also suggest you glue some thick rubber onto metal face, so it comes between glass and metal bar held in lathe chuck.

Do you have any tips on how to suck eggs Bernhard?

Do you have a photo or drawing of what you are describing?

Enclosed is a diagram for Chromatic speedo;

Sorry I'm not a computer wizz, so no. It's just the same as metal forming as on UTube and elsewhere.
