I am looking to sell my 70 750 Roadster and I have done the ebay and craigslist thing with no luck. A friend suggested I try Bring a Trailer. Have any of you used them and what is your take both buying and selling?

Have you tried listing it in the For Sale section of this forum? How about club newsletters?
Lowering your price might bring more response.

I've never heard of Bring A Trailer but will look it up.

Two of the guys that I ride with here in the Phoenix area used BaT for purchases. One bought a 60s BMW motorcycle and the other bought a collector car. Both were pleased with the experience as it was much more interactive than Ebay. That said, nobody that I know has utilized this site for selling but both of my friends said that they would use BaT without question the next time that they were selling a special interest vehicle.

I think there can be several reasons for "no luck" with a listing, a few of which are (in no particular order):

-price too high
-advert not clear and descriptive enough
-bad photos
-cost to ship cross-country

I've had great results with ebay, it's ALWAYS down to the starting bid being set too high for me. Eventually, I bite the bullet and lower it (and pay a re-listing fee), and they always sell. If you aren't willing to take a bit of a loss eventually, you may have the bike for a L-O-N-G time.

As far as a very complete listing description, feel free to copy one of my listings, just edit each section according to your bike's specifics, and your shipping and payment details (mine vary from bike to bike). Here's one you can use... https://www.ebay.com/itm/123021228081 It ALMOST goes without saying, but: CHECK YOUR SPELLING before posting the listing!

I ALWAYS include a full, straight, side-on photo of the right side, left side, closeup of the speedo showing mileage, and close-ups of the engine from both sides (use a photo editor to blur out license plate & serial numbers if you are concerned with that). Then, I include clear closeups of any details on the bike such as paint scratches, broken fins, torn seat, etc, and close-ups of significant replacement parts like electronic ignition, crankcase breather, etc.

Also, I always crop my photos to eliminate all but the slightest amount of background on both ends, top, and bottom. NEVER frame your photo where it chops off the tail light or kickstand! "It's the little things that count". Make sure you have decent light and a wall or non-distracting background so the bike can be clearly seen. FOCUS the camera!

Check the listing I posted above for an IMPORTANT detail - SHIPPING. In that particular listing, I was INCLUDING shipping anywhere in the U.S. (and the starting bid reflected that, of course). Between J.C.Motors and Keyboard M/C shippers, you can get a bike ANYWHERE in the conUS for under $750. It is a big consideration for many buyers; "if only you were in (someplace 600 miles away), I'd be there in the morning!"...
