I just received crankcases from Steve Maney for my 750. Beautiful workmanship! These have been machined for the standard primary cover and have not had the timing chest holes blocked.
I'm looking for opinions on what would be the simplest, most effective breather set up. These cases have a capped hole on the lower rear of the drive side case and a hole at the rear of the timing chest.

Thanks for your consideration.

My combat case breather will bolt on with a thick gasket. Jim

+1 the best way to go IMHO

I use a Comnoz reed breather screwed into the bottom back hole on the Maney cases on my race motor with great results.
I did blank off the timing side breather holes and drilled a 1/4" hole under the oil pump at assembly.

Thank you Jim, Eddie and Mike.

Jim, will the case need to be drilled or machined or is it simply as gasket swap?

Mike, did you do any machining to the breather hole area?

Mike,
No machining will be necessary. Just a thick gasket to clear the casting height around the machined pad. Jim

For APPRV, here is a couple of pics for you with the crank case breather and capped holes in the cases.
First pic is looking up facing forward to the back of the motor.
Crankcase breather in place and capped drive side Maney case directly above the breather.
The hose off the banjo fitting on the reed valve breather goes back to tank.
Second pic is of the back of the timing side Maney case capped, this is where a breather back to tank would normally go if you dont use the bottom mounted reed valve breather.

Hope this helps
Regards Mike
