Brake fluid Dot?

Yes I use DOT 4 . But you should be able to use 3 , 4 , or 5.1 which are glycol based. DOT 4 fluid is easier to find and has better specs than DOT 3. I would use 5.1 with the best specs if I could find it locally . Never mix DOT 5 which is silicone based .

Yes definitely never mix silicon brake fluid. After a brake system rebuild on my rarely used classic car I decided to use silicon as it doesn't absorb moisture while standing and is kinder on the 'rubber' components. Maybe things have changed but it was always accepted that the downside was that it was more compressive and gave a slightly softer pedal feel.
