Bosch parts

I hope Jenvey replies . They may give that cannot give information at this time answer.

Their Sales Engineer replied, just sent him your pics of the physical injectors and added a pic of the throttle bodies as requested

Will keep you posted

Hi All

Originally the injectors were Bosch, part number 0280 155 931. The items fitted to the EU3 bike we have here are copies - they look the same (aside from the lack of part number and logos) and flow the same but are not Bosch.

Thank You SCS Delta ! This is listed as a 12 ohm coil so that confirms what I measured .

Once you have the correct part number you can find it . The knock offs Norton was probably paying half this price or less.

Just bought 2 G*E*N*U*I*N*E BOSCH injectors,

Why when you have Jenvey, SCS and so on would you cut corners with critical parts of the equation like Injectors.

EXACTLY ! And ditto for relays, coils, sensors, etc...

To “spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar” as the old saying goes.

Quite frankly, with something like a high end motorcycle, such behaviour is staggeringly stupid...!

You have prompted me to look and my Sept '14 Sport has the fakes.

My 2015 CF has the fakes too, just ordered BOSCH from local AU stockist....

No idea if the actual performance is of any measurable difference but when you have lumpy idle issues, flat spots etc etc you want a known manufacturer for your critical components.

I don't understand this infatuation with Bosch? My Bosch DIY tools went in the garbage decades ago and as for home appliances, forget it, I went Siemens years back and they are far superior. Maybe Bosch has a better standard in the automotive industry?

I'm inclined to agree about the home appliances. I think the stuff made in Germany is ok, but not so good if made in Spain, Poland etc. My Bosch kettle, which was made in China, switches on if it decides to, rather than when I want it to. This is the replacement for the previous one which had the same faulty thermostat switch.

Bosch do seem to have a good reputation in the automotive industry although I don't know where the parts are made.

Isn't it the case though that some of these unbranded components are manufactured in the same factory as the branded ones. The guy who looks after my Audis is an independent Audi/VW specialist. When I had a clutch replaced he said he doesn't use the Audi dual-mass flywheels any more as the unbranded ones come from the same factory, but are a lot cheaper simply because they don't have the four rings on them.

I say get what ever parts you , like , want or can find. The problem for us with the unbranded parts is they are difficult to trace for spares. It is not an infatuation with me , I only want to be able to find the correct parts we or I want. I could not find the UNBRANDED fuel injector Norton put in my bike. BUT , I was able to find the Bosch brand part number in seconds ! If you know of a source of superior parts or any 961 hard parts , get them and let us in on it .

Bosch in the automotive industry also has shit. Ask me how I know.

I was told the green Bosch tools were just for occasional diy use which is why they didn't last long, so I started buying the blue so-called professional versions - they didn't last much longer!

That sounds quite dangerous, the Breville I had sometimes failed to switch off, also dangerous. Unfortunately all electric kettles are now made in China, even if you pay over £100 - with one exception - Ottoni Fabbrica, made in Italy and brilliant - available in Europe direct from the factory or from Amazon.

My comment wasn't aimed at anyone but was mere curiosity as to why we are seeking out Bosch replacements when it is clear that we don't know who made some of the sensors fitted, the quality of them, nor why Norton chose to move away from Bosch in some instances. The term 'knock off' or 'fake' is being used when we simply have no idea. All that I do know is that my bike has never missed a beat (once the battery drain issue was sorted) so whatever parts are fitted all appear to work harmoniously, how long it will keep this up for I don't know. Yes Tony I agree, having a list of 'alternate' parts is handy if we can't track down or make sense of what we currently have.

The Bosch Injectors have the fuel screens in them , the originals did not. I just got my Bosch set in today.

Mine are arriving today as well.

Honeywell air sensor was on 8 week back-order out of the US, really wanted to do both at the same time but going to have to wait I guess. I'm sure I have seen the Air Temp displayed on my OBDII app but thought I'd get a new one to have a spare just in case.
