I have an alloy dunstall tank on the way from RGM and am trying to find a seat to go with it. I am going to do a café style build with rear sets, clubmans, etc. My problem is that I would like a café seat that would be able to seat 2 for short trips as my son likes to ride with me occasionally. I found this style seat off a BMW R90s that looks like it would seat 2 and could maybe be modified to fit the commando chassis. I am going to paint the frame silver and the tank/seat cowl matte black. I could also do a café seat that is all fabric with no cowl . What are your thoughts/opinions? Thanks, Josh

The BM has a short tank and a long seat. The Dunstall style tank will be long. I doubt the long tank and long seat will fit / look right.

If your commando is rideable, why don't you ride it to the wreckers and get the guys to find you a seat ? That's better than speculating.

Its far from ride able at the moment. It is stripped to the frame for restoration. I was just getting ahead of myself in the planning stage at the moment.

I had thought about a fastback LR tail and seat, just didn't know how it would look with a dunstall tank. Maybe I will have to be the guinea pig.

maybe a little photoshop cut and paste will give you an idea before spending any $$$.

I had thought about that rgm manx style seat, but I didnt think the red piping would go well with my matte black/silver color scheme.

The BMW seat is a hing seat so be no good unless you do some work on it, Burtons British Bikes have a big rang of seats for any British bikes, Danny is a good bloke to deal with so send him a email and who knows he may have some good ideas for you, I brought my Innerstate seat with the hump off him over 5 years ago and a seat cover for a nomal Innerstate seat, was good to deal with him and answer all emails quickly with 3 working days deleivery to Australia.
