Andover homepage is not listing any Black Cap silencers but they do have "End cap - silencer" PN 065527.

Is it possisble to remove the end cap end install a new cap??

I'm not exactly sure that you remove the old one, or if you simply fit the new one over the old one?

The new one has to be pop riveted on, as far as I know? Are the old caps on your silencers riveted on?

No rivets and I don't understand how it is fitted or can be removed :?

On one of the silencers the cap is no longer in the center of the silencer so I have drilled holes in the end cap to open it up.
When I noticed you can buy the end caps as spares I was thinking I could replace them and fix the silencer at the same time.

The only information I know of, regarding the replaceable end caps is given in Roy Bacons "Norton Twin Restoration" book.

And I quote from chapter 5, "Carburettor and Exhaust", p92, quote: "....Of the five [silencer] types listed for 1974, only one ran on for 1975 with the end cap available as a spare although it had to be riveted into place."

Maybe a call/email to Andover Norton would answer this question?
