Can anyone here tell me how to drain a Bing carb ? I can see a wire stirrup under the float bowl connected on either side, do I need to prise this out to release the float bowl as I can't see any screws holding it on. They are fitted to a newly aquired 82 TSX .

Sam,
Just push the wire retainer & the float bowl comes away. As these are more or less the same carbs as fitted to airhead BMs be sure to check the floats, as they are often affected by the shit that we are being fobbed off with as petrol. Also, the needle jets wear out just as fast as Amals, about every 10,000 miles.

Martyn.

Cheers Martyn, there's no real info in the TSX parts book . Pretty used to Amals wearing out so they're in good company.
