Hello,
I have bought an old Ducati RT 450 from Tuscon Arizona and need to get it to LA to ship to Australia.
Any suggestions for a transport company to do this?
I can pick someone off the web but I don't know if there are cheaper people that may not have web adds.
Also, it's comming here to be restored, not stripped and sold for parts

Try uship.com, I have used it a few times with good affordable results.

Hi,

I just bought a vintage Honda in Arizona and I found someone who is transporting it to me from Arizona for $350.

I went through the process of signing up to http://www.uship.com/ and submitted a posting with the specs of my bike and from-to location. You can specify your max price. I got about three or four reasonable offers in the $350-$450 range.

Good luck and glad to hear that you will restore your bike.

thanks,
It turns out my wife has a friend who has an import company.
So they arrange pick up in Arizona, ship to Brisvegas, do all the custom clearances for $1500.
To me this is good as I don't have to pay to have the bike transported once it gets to Brisbane.

Uship was $1350 from Arizona to Sydney, but I had to get custom clearance and then about $450 transport to Brisbane.

Would it be less if it were broken down into parts and then shipped in several boxes over several days?

Yes, probably ? But then it comes into Australia as spare parts with no way to get it registered for road use.
I had thought of that but it's a huge hassle for the fellow I bought it from.
But thanks for your advice.
$1500 landed to Brisbane seems pretty good to me.

Shipped to California & put in my garage sounds better to me! Guess it wouldn't be to good for you. Cool bike, I had a little duck once, wish I still had it, enjoy it.
