IWIS Duplex from chainman.

It has to be the Diesel big/solid ? pin.

John F the round the world dude has stretch issues with a IWIS is all I know from his post on FB so not all were equal. (I bought two off Andy long ago)

What's the best primary chain to order in for my MK 111 ?

IMHO the best triplex is a NOS chain or a good original chain. (The reason I have a few as new chains) until there is proven evidence the modern triplex is as good as the OEM chains.

It's the Merc timing chain Iwis you need, duplex for the primary, simplex for camchain.

I am not sure (since Andy) there is one Mercedes Benz chain which is why am glad I got 4 chains off him (D and S)

Prob worth looking at this link and the thread https://www.accessnorton.com/NortonCommando/chain.15655/page-4
I have fitted the Andover Norton CZ triple primary chain to my bike - replacing a well worn Renold chain which was probably the original. Not done that many miles on it (3000) so can't comment on durability but Joe Seifert obviously rates them.
May be the best triplex available if you don't want to go down the IWIS duplex route.

I’ve just had to change mine. I contacted Jason, Andy son and was set to buy the duplex from him. But because of Brexit I decided to stick with one from Joe at Norton motors (Andover) in Germany.
I hope I won’t know for a long while if it was a wise choice or not!!

IWIS Duplex from chainman.
I have a new Duplex IWIS from Jason the Chain man , still in the box.
Until I realized it won't work with the MK 111.
The tensioner system skate plunger faces are the issue and that they would not fit centrally for even all around up and down pressures and centralized wear to the hydraulic bores. Hard to understand but the best way I can word it.
I could fit it easily , but the duplex sits onto the 2 inboard sprockets and I fear the running tensioner pressures would not run centrally.
An idea I have could be to shave/have milled down the tensioner body (Inboard) in order to bring the tensioner body closer to the inner chaincase . This would centralize better the running of the skate plungers in their bores.
Perhaps I worry too much and should just fit the Duplex and not worry about the centralization.
Or buy a good Triplex.
You could try a belt drive...

JOKING!!! ;)

Big thanks , CZ seems the way to go for MK 111.

Since both of you fitted the Duplex IWIS without any tensioner issues , I'll fit it and not worry.
From what I hear the fit is to the 2 rows of sprocket teeth inboard closest to the inner primary.
Yes it's a very nice chain for sure.

Fitted the new IWIS Duplex today. 6 hrs. labour with breaks. The rains and night set in before the test so I will test it out in a couple days and report back.

Has anyone fitted a currently available Renold triplex chain and have opinions/comments?

DevonNorton's helpful link with Andy the Chain man's comments say that the Reynold's O.E.M. primary chain is not a dedicated motorcycle chain. Take it from there.

What about the IWIS Triplex chain, yes we also deal with IWIS.
Despite that, never had a Triplex chain fail or returned in the 6 years I have been at AN.
