Barber 2013

I dont make enough to pay for a trip to USA.

Even the the clubs in UK give travel money but no fee. So the Barber would have to pay.

Having said that I am increasingly aware that although chains are perhaps the most important
part on many old Brit bikes, the level of honest advice to woefully lacking. In the UK there are two
companies specialising in classic chain where good advice is available, Sprockets Unlimited and
me The Chain Man. I specialise in chain with my 40 years experience and only chain, for both classic
cars, look at TT race engines, and classic brit bikes.

Most "dealers" see chain as a $ sign and having heard some of the advice they give it is clear that
the end user, yes that is most of you, need clueing up. In USA and OZ it is difficult to source good
product and Jap chains just will not do on old Brit bikes including Nortons. Yes you can get Renolds at
a huge price but it is not the chain it once was. I have even been asked whop the iwis dealer is in Canada
recently. Although even the agents are not interested in bikes.

Bugger youve got me on a rant.

Have a good night

Andy

Soaking up some Lexington BBQ before heading out in the morning. Should get in sometime Friday afternoon. Took the bikes for a spin today. 40 yr old seat foam is pretty f'n hard.

I bet the riding position is much more comfortable thou.

Better than a proddy ? Sure, closer to my Hinkley Triumph although my feet are quite forward. The copious amounts of fuel is nice!

Swoosh, pick a BBQ place in Birmingham for us all to go out to!! Have a good ride, Dan.

Rusty's BBQ, just 5 minutes from Barber. We went there two years ago and even tho it's super close to the park there wasn't many bikers there. I think most of them stay to the west of the park and don't go this way. Great food.

We'll be there Saturday dinner after the event. Feel free to join us!

No one showed up at Rusty's while we were there. Kenny and his crew were rolling after us, we couldn't wait until after 7pm to eat.

The food was spectacular. If you're in the area be sure to stop in.

Just wanted to say thank you to swooshdave for organizing the meet up and how great it was to meet norton owners - and bikes - from all over the country. glad i can put faces with accessnorton names now :D
