Read in local paper that Nationally here in Canada 47% of families $200 a week away from insolvency because of high household debt ... in ‘04 when I stopped work I paid off all of ours and lived by purchasing big items cash so still no debt , at same time took our investments off market and bought Gov. Insured Investment Certificates , that where what we have is , other than a little in our tax free accounts .... sure hope some left after what coming happens , unless the Country collapses entirely I think we okay ... .... like above no body coming in here and taking anything , made sure our kids are armed and supplied too .... ready for the worst hoping for the best .....eh

As are we all Craig..... You can catch a glimpse as to how the stomach churns as you see the beliefs of the far left exercised in releasing hardened criminals from lockup because they just can't stand the thought of them being at risk in jail.
Take care of family and community first and foremost because these twisted people cannot stop playing politics and agendas.

Unless you’ve faced someone shooting at you before, I’d say the chances are about 60/40. 60 for the bad guys.

Probably much higher than 60 as the bad guy will already have his gun out and ready - just to show you how serious they are

Pretty much the case. I think some of our forum members have watched too many Dirty Harry movies. In the movies when you are killed, they yell “Take!” and you get up. In real life, you get killed you stay down. DEAD!

well I for one have been shot at , once I was slow reacting and got half an arse full of bird shot for my troubles during a young mans prank or so we thought at time, liberating a 100lb box of live lobster is a serious thing , I don't recommend trying it , while not facing the man with the gun I do know the fear involved in being shot at , I didn't even realize buddy had discovered us until the first round went off .... you can guess reason why I was hit in backside ....

Did you get the lobster?

Heard this on the news re UK. Its a CONSERVATIVE government that is doing this. And as a cost saving exercise?

Can you explain what you mean by this?

As on the BBC website, some, this does not apply to prisoners serving 4 years or more or sex offenders, will be let out on strict conditions, they must wear ankle monitors. Each one Will be asserted .

well my thoughts on this are that to release 4,000, some of whom will almost certainly be infected or carriers is insane. But then I would have all incoming UK travellers put into quarantine , for 3 weeks ,before admission.

Or, maybe the government want to infect more of us with coronavirus so, we either become immune from the virus, or we fall by the wayside.

Almost anything now seems possible.. wWould have thought that the virus would have generated so much electronic traffic in China that Western intelligence wouldhave known something was up . The Brits and the US took no action.. for almost 2 months.. Now Boris tells us he is 'furious' with the Chinese for concealing data...

On the bright side,
Gasoline has gotten really cheap, spring is almost here and we still have our motorbikes.
With a higher proportion of old farts kicking off the unfunded pension liability problem may go away.
I've run out of cheap, cheesy novels and have started reading classic literature that has been on the back bench for quite a few years.

He’s right. They did. The Chinese played this down, tried to subdue it as best they could. And that had a direct impact on Western leaders who then thought “no need to panic”.

Had the Chinese been more honest, sooner, it may have panned out differently.

In that case check out “The Plague” by Albert Camus ... was 40-45 yrs ago when I read it , certainly still resonates in today’s world ... saw it on shelf the other day and thought it was next on my re-read list ....

There's a lot of good reads out there written by folks who had vision just as there are those which were full of malarkey. I like it when I come across the ones with vision.

I see as a Brit you don't get the joke, as long as I have bullets I can take your toilet paper.
Never did get the American sense of humour. One you would need to know I had some, and two what I would give could have been laced with some nice chemical. but having an English accent had its advantages, like being able to watch soccer in the Mexican bars in San Diego, strangely none of the USN senior rates from Point Loma would come with us.
On the way back in from San Clamente Island where we just test fired the Tomahawks, we put on some Father Ted episodes, boy, the American Engineers watching it were horrified that such a programme could be shown on telly they did not think it was comedy.

I've never had issues in Mexican bars, but then I know I'm talking to fellow humans when I'm with them and not a cluster of animals. Raised here I've lots for friends.
