Banking crisis next?

I've got to go with JimC on this because nothing is going to be the same again.
And remember ammo will see you through times of no TP better than TP will see you through times of no ammo. Paper money won't be worth much so don't let it go to waste.

Just remember, the bad guys will be armed, too. They won’t be coming one at a time, either. I doubt you’d be able to fend off a dozen or so at the same time. Of course, you could always use one bullet to end it, for you.

This financial crisis has been decades in the making, JimC's blame on the current admin notwithstanding. His hero, the Big O, was to have fixed it in 2009 .... needless to say, it did not happen.

Otherwise, I have to agree with him .... the crisis is here to stay .... for awhile at least.

I agree with jbuney ... not only do I have TP stockpiled, I have beans and buckshot as well. Also gold.

Slick

How sweet! Guess we should all just accept that either death by Virus or starve to death due to collapse of banking and infrastructure is our fate. What an inspirational person!

No Slick, I never blamed Trump for the pandemic or an imminent financial crisis. What has happened is this crisis has laid bare for all to see how incompetent he and his administration really are. Swamp creatures make for poor leaders.

Besides that, you are too smart to fall for that Trump bullshit. Where are you coming from, anyway?

Obama was not my favorite president, let alone my hero. Although, I have said Trump is not even fit to shine Obama’s shoes.

Disregarding Roosevelt, the next best presidents in my lifetime, best for the country anyway, were Eisenhower and LBJ. Both left huge legacies. Eisenhower for the Interstate highway program. Johnson for civil rights and Medicare. Although, Johnson loses points for escalating the Vietnam war.

Well Jim we'll just have to wait and see if they're really interested enough to dance after the introduction.

Johnson's legacy, was indeed, the civil rights legislation. Legislation that was supported by a majority of the GOP, and opposed by a majority of the Dems. The Dems, however, made a masterful coup out of it, and emerged as the champion of civil rights.

Slick

No Slick, Democrats controlled both houses in 1964.

You know full well the anti civil rights Dems of 1964 have morphed into today’s GOP. Nixon’s southern strategy.

How depressing.
I just got my new sprag and drive gear to test from cNw and John. Its their new product. I think I will just go in the garage for a few days and work on the Mk3. Oh crap I can’t because I have to keep monitoring out of control threads on my forum, true, but out of control lol

I’m not too worried about banking but we are running out of flour, imminent baking crisis!!

Good news as usual from here; My 850 is running fine with just the occasional hiccup & elusive oil drop/drip, redone clutch holds like super glue, really enjoying smooth pull of new cable too.... Things shall improve once everyone can get out and vent their frustration through other means. Too much TV is not good for the soul.

My wife’s 92yr old Mom passed 2 wks past , sharp as a tack till death , she whispered to wife to keep an eye out for cool hard cash .... days later as we cleaning out her apartment , Jo found what appeared to be a meatloaf in freezer , it was $10k cash wrapped in tin foil in a tin for meatloaf , Jo’s Mom had lived through some tuff times and I guess had little trust in bank for quite awhile ....

Goods, will still be needed and traded, goods need to be made. Whether they trade for paper money, gold or sea shells, who knows, but trade will be done, banks or no banks. Currently in the UK there is no shortage of jobs, supermarkets, farmers, mechanics, drivers all needed.
Bullets versus toilet roll, I could see toilet roll being used as currency but not bullets, trading away your stash of ammo is not good. Its one hell of a strange world.

Six million filed for unemployment benefits just last week. I’m afraid the economy is fatally wounded, just bleeding out.

Start digging your grave now. All is lost.

We'll survive this just fine. If we'd been in a depression prior to the pandemic I wouldn't be so optimistic. But in six months we'll bounce right back. Unemployment will drop right back down. Why? Because while people at at home they aren't spending any money. There will be a huge boom as soon as they are unleashed. Similar to the boom post-WWII.

Plus all you old people will have died off and left us your assets. So if you don't mind updating your will the correct spelling is "swooshdave". Have your lawyer contact my lawyer... :)

I see as a Brit you don't get the joke, as long as I have bullets I can take your toilet paper.

I have toilet paper AND bullets. We have a somewhat famous saying in Texas... "Come and take it".

I have an updated version of that quote: "Come and TRY to take it".

More Texas braggadocio.

NOBODY is taking from MY family (without asking).

I was born with a spine.

Now, if someone NEEDS something that I have, and I'll still have enough for my family if I give some away, I will ALWAYS share (if they just ask, or if I find out about the need first-hand)

Just don't attempt to TAKE what is legally mine.
